Persistence
What are the three factors that will give you a huge advantage over ‘the herd’ and the best possible chance of achieving your goals while 95% fall by the wayside? Not IQ, education or background (although they help).
Persistence. Persistence. Persistence.
You can’t try new ventures or strive for change without messing up, falling down or having your motives questioned. It is going to happen. You need to learn to accept it and embrace it, it’s part of the process. And it’s a very simple process:
- the more you persist, the more you learn
- the more you learn, the more experience you gain
- the more experience you gain, the higher your chance of success
So if you want to get ahead, get a thick skin. It’s an essential part of your ‘success toolkit’.
But what allows you to pick yourself up and try and try again? By mastering what goes on inside your head. That inner voice that gives a running commentary on your life. Its job is to protect you by maintaining the status quo. It doesn’t like change. It doesn’t like the unknown. Result? You fear stepping outside your comfort zone and trying something new, even though your “comfort zone” is making you unhappy.
Life coaching can help you turn the volume down on the inner voice that holds you back and find the confidence to say sod the consequences, I’m going for it anyway.
